GIVING UP

[53 mainline]

i thought it would be cool to have a old 6cyl ford. with all the old school after market parts. my first problem was not finding this forum before buying parts! i have decided to leave my 53 mainline stock. so i have some parts to sell. first i have new CLIFFORD headers that will NOT fit a 53 mainline with a 215 engine and a stick! where have i read about this before? second i have a nos MELLINGS 3/4 race cam that will NOT fit a 215 6 cyl. found this out on this forum,cam is for a 223. third i have a EDMUNDS dual carb setup with 2 glass bowl carbs and to other carbs that go with it.i believe this will actually fit a 215? fourth i have a FENTON aluminum finned valve cover. I KNOW SOME OF THESE PARTS WOULD FIT, BUT I WANTED THE WHOLE PACKAGE! ANYONE INTERESTED IN THESE PARTS MY PHONE NUMBER IS 319-723-4212.

May I please say do not give up. This is a learning curve as we all make mistakes. Sell off what you do not need and start over. Many times building projects I have made mistakes and have learnt from them only to do something better.

Please don't just give up on the old Ford. I have kept my driver mostly stock, and there is a certain coolness about displaying & driving it as is. List your stuff you don't need in the for sale place below, someone else needs the items and you can recoup what you feel you have 'lost'.
