when wiring up the GM module do you just use the same wire on coil positive that was on the coil stock along with the other wire, or do I have to wire up a switch?

I hooked it all up according to the diagram, and I'm still having problems, no spark! Is there a problem with my distributor or something?

Hey Guys,

Sorry to thread jack here but I too am going to try a GM module. Is just a plain , flat piece of aluminum used to mount the module to?...Can it be mounted to the fender well somewhere, or is it more feasible to mount to the frame ... If to the frame Jack, do you I suppose, have to fab the aluminum larger for mounting holes, then drill into the frame :?: , or , if to the engine block, where :?
Thanks

The module gets hot. You should mount it to something that will act as a heat sink and use the dielctric grease to help transfer heat.

A simple alloy or steel sheet metal plate will work; a finned heat sink would obviously be better, and screwing it directly to the body would also work, but would not be my first choice.

I think it's like the Bosch one in that it "pulls" a ground through its mounting base. For that reason, if the base is imperfectly grounded, you will waste electricity as heat, too.
