Bought a header from a guy off craigslist today. I paid $150 for this Hooker Super Comp dual outlet. Good deal or ok deal? The rust is only surface rust I can sand off of it.

those should clean up pretty good use some jasco or rust oleum rust treatment and paint them up and you're good to go.craigslist is great it's where i found my fairmont and i check it daily for parts.

Craigslist is great!!!
I'll clean them up and paint them with some high temp paint.
Now I need some mufflers and pipes. :D

High temp paint out of a spray bomb will burn right off. Go to your local hardware store and get some stove black thats used for wood stoves and BBQ grills.

Even the stuff rated up to 1200 degrees?

Read the fine print...that 1200* is probably a max temperature, not a continuous use temperature.

Other option is to go out and have it ceramic coated and you won't have to worry about it.

Anyone have pictures of their dual setup underneath on how you ran the tubes and mufflers?
I need to figure out where to cross over to have the tail pipes come out the holes in the rear valance.
Blue anyone? :D

From what i've heard if you have access to a big grill that you don't care about you can ceramic coat it yourself by spraying then cooking it and it will last for a long long time :).

That said i don't have one that i can spare, but who knows maybe the free area in craigslist *shrug*. You just need to be able to cook em at about 400 degrees for like two hours or so.

Hmmm that gives me an idea. I work in the packaging field and we use heat tunnels to shrink down film around product. Normally the tunnels run about 300-350 but they can go up to either 400 or 500. The can says to cure @ 300 for 2 hours.

Building that for Papa Smurf?

What sort of paint did you use?
I used the Dupli-color high heat ceramic paint rated up to 1200 intermittent(rattle can)
