Hi, I had a major change of plans after bringing the head I ported back to the machine shop. This time the guy said that he didn't like the looks of the exhaust ports so we should machine them for inserts $$$$. Since I already had the ports cleaned up I figured I better go for it. Two days later they call me and told me after bead blasting that they found a crack that was welded up, probably from the head being left outside and freezing. So scrap 1 old head.

So I was trying to come up with another plan. I found a complete 200 take out motor from a member on this site, and bought it. I'll use the Head D8BE 6090, Ignition and maybe the carb, but I'm leaning toward a Motorcraft 2100 carb I have. I'm told the head is from 1hotvega. I wanted to get the project done before snow season, but now I'll wait till spring, since the Bronco runs fine and I need to plow my driveway. All I'll have to figure out is throttle linkage. Thanks for looking!

Looks like some sorta holley in the back of the bronk.
Which is that? & Y not run it?

HOwdy Ron:

Good catch. Are you going to pull the head or run it as is? Do you know if head work has been done? CR? I'll be looking forward to spring to follow this thread so keep us up.

adios, David

Hi, the engine came with a Holley 350 CFM. I'm just putting the head on my engine. Combustion chambers where 58 cc. It got 2 new guides, my new intake valves and springs, lapping, and .060 shims, and a light mill. The leak down on this engine was @ 25 to 30. The leak down on my old engine is @ 15 to20, except on #6 cylinder, which is why I needed the valve job. The ports look great, just as 1hotvega left it. No stock head came ready for a two barrel. This adapter is brazed onto a machined flange. Thanks for your interest.

Definitely looks like one of 1hotvega's heads. His attention to detail on the mounting of the 2bbl flange is unmistakable. I think you're going to be pretty happy with that. Nice score. Will it have oversized valves or standard?

Your old head is a good candidate for a hack job. 8) The new head must be a late D8 , the D8 I have is flat top but you have the nice hex head..Block looks like C6 can you verify?. Thanks.
Ford did made a couple two barrels but they were exp or very rare ,someone may remember the details.

Hi, standard valves, I'm not going crazy, just fixing it up. The block I got is C6DE 6015 B. It has been for sale to a good home on this site. Cheap!

Great score! When I decided to go the 3x1 route, I sourced my modified head from 1hotvega on ebay. I've been very happy with it!

Good luck with the project! There were numerous times while messing with the three carb setup that I thought "why didn't I just go with the 2bbl single carb option. My guess is the performance is about the same either way.
