Got Cotronics?

Just wondering if anybody had some leftover cotronics to use on my port divider? I would be willing to pay for it, I just don't want to buy a whole bottle of the stuff. I just ordered a ton of exhaust parts and I'm trying to do as much of the assembly as I can myself while trying not to screw it up. (I'm a newbie...) I've read through some old posts, but any new installation advice would be greatly appreciated.

Btw, my orders include the "Header" package from FSPP with the pacemaker upgrade, a port divider, 67 GT exhaust tips, and 2 40 series flowmasters.

I have some left over cotronics, but it is over a year old.

I believe it has a shelf life of less than six months.

My personal experience is to have it professionally welded to the head.

Some readers have secured the divider with screws at at least 2 if not three corners of contact with the exhaust port.

Again welding is the only sure method to fasten the exhaust port divider.

I used Cotronics Resbond 907 GF for the port divider about two years ago. No problems yet.

I gave the rest of mine away.

Well I don't have the resources or experience to weld it myself, nor the extra funds to have a shop do it, so the cotronics is pretty much my only option. I've heard it works fairly well, for at least a few years anyways.

There's gotta be somebody out there with some extra glue, it would be greatly appreciated! :D

I am thinking that in order to get a good bond, you need to sandblast the port and divider both very well?

they heat the head to 450 in a oven then braze it in

That's nice, but not always pratical for everyone...

I plugged the back of the exhasut ports with rags and then did some grinding on the head and divider to get a good clean tight fit. Then vacuumed it out and swabbed it out with denatured alcohol to get it good and clean. Removed rags (important tip there). I let the side facing the header extend out a very small amount to get a good seal on the gasket and header.

Used Cotronics to hold it in place. Then cleaned up the bond joints and smoothed it out with a dremel. Sold the cotronics tube to someone here for $10...can't remember who.

Working just fine.

Well it's been a few days and nobody seems to have spare cotronics, so I'm just going to go ahead and buy some...if anybody wants what I'll have leftover, we could possibly work out a deal.

Fantomex, I will be glad to give my left over tube. PM me with your name & address.

The tube I have is about 1 year old, & cotronics said the life is about 1 year in normal room temperatures. Mine was kept in an air conditioned atmosphere @ 74 degrees.

If you want it its yours. William

I have some, but it's over 2 years old.

I've had mixed success with it. one divider on my US head is still tight as can be. The one on the Aussie head broke free and is rattleing around. But the Aussie head did not have the ribs the US head has and thus the epoxy had to act more like a structural part and not just an epoxy.

I just called Contronics and ordered some 907GF. They have a minimum order of $35 so I ordered a calking tube and a 3 pack of 4oz tubes. I'm obviously not going to need it all, so if anybody want's some let me know.

I got my order from Contronics yesterday. I will probably only be using one of the 4oz tubes, so I'll have 2 more tubes and a calking tube full of the stuff left over. If anybody needs some let me know.
