HI ALL
Well I got the head I'm going to use yesterday a D7 $50.oo needs to be rebuilt burnt valves estimat from the machine shop of $200.oo worse case sanairo +$15. for the cut back on the intakes. Boy are the exhaust ports small  guess I'm just used to seeing the 460 stuff. Can they be opened up some gasket match or should I just leave them alone? I plan on useing a header.
I also grabed the Dizzy. It had a vacuum pod that had two nipples on it :?: is that steal a load-o-matic or what?
Thanks

Howdy Tim:

Yes, the exhaust ports can be cleaned up and opened to gasket size.

It the distributor is a '78 vintage it is not a Loat-a-matic. It is a DuraSpark II. You will need the distributor, module and coil. It is also easiest to get the wiring harness from the donor while you're at it.

The nipple closest to the distributor is for retarding the ignition. It will not be used. The nipple farthest out should be hooked to a ported vacuum source on the carb. What carb/year are you using it with? If it is a '67 or erlier carb, it will have a Spark Control Valve, which will not be perfectly compatible with a DSII distributor.

Adios, David
