I think any engine I ever rebuilt had clevite bearings, I have never heard anything bad, so I say yes, they are quite excellent..

My port experience is ongoing... I'm not done, and have so far acquired the following bits for use (all solid carbide burrs) 5/8 "Xmas Tree", 5/8" ball, 1/2" ball, 1/2" ball-end cylinder. Want to get a 3/8" ball-end cylinder, too. In US money, there's about $190 for that bunch. So the results better be good!

My point? Shooting for the ideal results can require quite a lot of spending on gear to get you there. But it's noisy, messy and fun to port heads.

Regards, Adam.
