Granada Cold Start Trouble

I've have a'78 Granada for my kids w/250 -6 cyl.
The problem I have is the first start of the day, after that it runs like a scared rabbit. It has a rebuilt 1bbl carter, most of the emissions are gone, throttle pump appears to be working..plugs appear to be good, newer cap and rotor& wires..when it running there's no spark knock and shifts well.
Any Ideas about my starting problem????

What kind of problem are you having? Won't start right away, runs rough cold, have to keep pumping the gas, smoke, all of the above...??

What kind of carb do you have?

You may need a fast idle adjustment, choke plate adjustment, or choke mixture adjustment. Do you have a shop manual, or a Chilton's for the engine?
