The shop finally broke head down and inspected it. They didnt find crack til they magnafluxed it.

Gonna cost an additional $125 to have crack repaired. Shop owner took head to a friend of his who said he could cold weld the crack no problem, just have to make sure its really clean and do small parts at a time.

So looks like the big stainless valves are now out :(

Means Im gonna wind up with a ported and polished stock valve size D8 head with a 350cfm 2bbl direct mounted to log.

Since I got laid off the tuned runner multi port EFI big log plenum is on hold. Now were down to stock head with blow through Holley 2bbl carb.

I guess the upside is I dont give up points for running oversized valves.

That is too bad. If you were closer, there are quite a few heads floating around here in the Southwest area.
I have no clue on shipping however.

Hopefully you have good luck with repaired head. The shop I used back in Texas was a very high volume rebuilder and they said they could tell without a doubt if the could repair my head that was cracked in two places. It was pinned and welded and I have had two years of no problems with the head so it can be done. I had mine repaired as the three candidate replacement heads I found were all cracked worse.
