GT mufflers

I'm adding dual out headers to my 66 mustang 200, and am deciding about mufflers. The late model Mustang GT's with factory mufflers have the sound that I would like to duplicate...not too loud but a very nice deep hollow sound. Have any of you used those mufflers on a 200 with duals? If yes, did it retain the GT sound with the 200?
Thanks,
Russ

they most likely wouldn't, it'd be something of the same, but not quite just because of the difference between the I6 and the V8, as well as size

i plan on going with Hooker Aerochambers, they have a nice mellow noise at idle and can get nice and loud

If you're talking about the '99-'04 GT's, I had a set and threw them away. They're the same muffler used on the V6, and when you see them they're oversized, heavy, and probably a lot more restrictive than the more common aftermarket mufflers. You'd probably be better off with cheap turbo mufflers.

I think the best we've heard on the 6's so far is Borla. But those can be pricey.
I'm wanting to try Mac Flowpaths on an inline. They sound great on my V6, and compared to V6es with Flowmasters, they're a lot more civilized. So I'm thinking that should probably help them not be as raspy as Flows are on an inline.

Have any of you heard the Flowmaster 70 series? The website says it is quieter but still with the flowmaster tone, but I'd like to hear someone else's opinion.

I have twin Flowtech glasspacks. Not bad at highway cruise, but you hear them up a hill or when you step on it...which I don't find real annoying. I usually drive the classic by myself.
At idle, actually very quiet.

Has anyone thought about using a muffler from a 350zx nissan or an fx35 infiniti?
