Have a great running 170 with a fresh "worked" head and running excellent with original YF carb.

I installed a H/W 5200 on a 2>1 adaptor ('Langdon's Stovebolt'). Initially carb jetting was stock 4cyl application and started and ran pretty good but bogged down and missed with 2bbl at WOT with RPM's under @ 2500.

I rejetted carb along the current FSP group guidelines (thanks Stang200) with mains @ 160/160, air bleeds @ 185/175, and the idles @ 075/065 (primary/secondary). I also added a fuel press. regulator as advised by Earle Parker of circle track carb fame. I 'modded' a 'Stang 250 RBS carb air cleaner for the Holley as well.

After re-jetting it runs great with good top end and smooth off-idle running BUT still bogs exactly same way if I'm under 2500 RPM and I wing throtle to WOT it just bogs and stumbles until it hits @ 3000 and then takes off toward 5500RPM real fast.

I believe the carb still has a problem but I am at a loss where to look for the solution.

If the accelerator pump is working well, at this point the carb should be pretty close, so the problem might be ignition related, particularly timing.

Try advancing the timing a little to see if the bog goes away or gets better.
