header v.s. heater hose question

i finally got my header installed( thanks again Mike at FSPP ) and it is very close to the heater hose fitting at the front of the block.i cant even fit a finger between the two. any ideas ? will it melt my hose? other than that it sounds killer. had my muffler guy run the pipes through magaflows through my new gt valence. it sounds like a v8 from the back very cool....

A longer hose worked for my car and I bypassed the carb adaptor, too.

Is Tesla still touring with Def Leppard?

God I must be getting old.

First thing that popped in my head was Nikola Tesla. didnt even think of the group.

You could always make a aluminum heatshield to direct the heat away from the hose. If its too close Im not sure if it will melt the hose with liquid inside but it will most assuredly get brittle as it cooks.

what if i bypassed the heater core altogther? ran a hose between the 2 heater fittings on the water pump? would that lend it to over heating probs later on as the heater core and hoses do add some cooling capacity 8)
