Header vs. stock manifold & dual out w/ Y-pipe

Another thing that changes exhaust sound: Cam. I upgraded my cam, and the sound of the exhaust became louder and throatier.

i am planning on adding a 2 barrel carb, hogging it out and doing a bit of milling on a later head, but nothing too extreme.

Howdy back Mike and All:

Either will be a nice upgrade over a stock system. All things being equal, I'd probably go with the 2.25" system, which will have an advantage at higher rpms, and room for future upgrades. I also subscribe to Panic reference to Vizard's observations, about no such thing as good back- pressure. A good volume and steady velocity exit of spent gases is the best for performance and efficiency.
