I learning more and more every day, but I'm still confused about cams. I spoke with Mike at FSPP last night and he recomended a 264H and told me I would need to decide the lobe center....Here
is where I need your help..

66 ford mustang 200 Six
petronix igintion
pacemaker header ( 2 into 2)
dual exhausts
250 head from a 77 Maverick with a oversized valves and a 3 angle valve job
C-4 Automatic
stock pistons
Holley 2300 2 barrel, possibly a 2 barrel autolite (haven't decided)
exhaust port divider

The head being milled to .60"

I think that's it.....

The different lobe center causes a change of idle roughness & some power changes.
The cam with a 110 degree lobe center will idle rougher than the cam with a 112 degree lobe center. The loss of power would be about 2 horsepower by using the 112 cam. I am in the process of putting the same cam in my engine. I chose the 112 lobe center for a smoother idle.
The 264 fspp cam installed at 112 will have the same idle characteristics as a comp 260 cam with a 110 lobe center becuase the valve overlap is the same. I would definetely use the fspp 264 camshaft. Its your choice of idle roughness which lobe center you pick.
If you had a stick shift i would use the 110 lobe center cam. william

Or you could use my rework of Bill Cobsy's Old Car joke.

Just randomly fit either kind of cam untill you find one that creates 12 reflections in the rear view mirror while at the lights. That way, whatever you hit, there'll be 12 of 'em in the mirror.

Seriously, Bills advice sounds pretty good. Remember, the 200 has very good effective compression. It is a short rod engine, with stacks of torque down low. As it stands, it is so under camed that practically any cam under 280 degrees will work brilliantly.

Use the stock cam for holding up your tomatoes. :P
