Take a look at the Vehicle Identification plate on the rear face of the driver's door. The top codes are "body", "color", "trim', "DSO" "axle", "trans". The lower code is the "VEHICLE WARRANTY NUMBER". The 5th digit, a capital letter is the engine code. "T" - 200. "U" - 170. In rare cases you may find a number in this location. If so, a 2 - 200, a 4 - 170 engine.
I would suggest that one of the first parts you acquire would be a shop manual for your '65 Falcon. They are a wealth of info.
