I was looking at the crossflow head swap pages some more and was just wondering why it would be harder to adapt the crossflow head to the us250 block? You said it is not reccomended.
The chambers are small, from 49-56cc's depending on which head you get. If you zero deck the block, the CR gets way to high. If you leave the deck at factory specs of about .150", the engine will have no quench and little turbulence.
No doubt the head would be better than the log, but if you want 250 inches, you're better off using the Aussie block with Aussie pistons.
