First Post =)

Recently bought my older brothers 70 mustang Stock 250 i6.
It sat in my parents backyard for 9 years so it needs plenty of work, but I did get it off him for only 500$ :D
Just got the engine running, and am gutting and replacing alot of the cabin right now. Fairly inexperienced with i6 engines(I know v8's) but I want to build the 250 not drop a 302 in it like everyone else. It won't be a commuter car, i'm restoring and modding it purely for performance.

Plan is to build it over the next two or three years in stages to full high end performance, sub 12sec is a general goal.
Working on interior right now. Replacing seats, dash, guages, headliner, all seals and rubber for doors and windows.
light dent work, small rust cancer spot behind back driver side tire.

A engine question, pros/cons on going 3 single bbl vs. one double bbl carb? seen alot of talk about running 3 webers on a offy intake.

the triple carb setup is alot more work, once it's set up the main issue is tuning

but, depending on which head you have (for example, the Oz 250-2V head), you might be able to get the same power levels

8) the biggest hassle of using the 3x1bbl carb settup as evan stated, after getting the linkage right, is getting it and keeping it tuned. multiple carbs are great for the WOW factor, but are a royal pain in the backside to get running right. the aussie head with either the holley(or autolite) 2bbl, or the weber 38/38 dgas carb, or even going with a four bbl carb(if you do, keep it small and use the 390 or 450 cfm holley carb) will get you to about the same power level with much better drivability, and tunability.

st8of6 .... sounds like a good license plate =)

I don't like doing things the easy way anyhow...it's no fun :D
