I finally got my head back from the machine shop, I also got an adapter that I think will work well as a plate. But I ran into a problem.... The linkage for the throttle doesnt clear the manifold (it hangs down too low). I havent really looked at it to see what I could conglomerate though...... Anyone else have this issue, if so how did you solve it? Thanks, Tommy

1" spacer between the carb and adapter - that's what I had to do because Autolites choke parts (fast idle screw and its bracket) interfere with the manifold in all other positions but idle...

Beware of possible hood clearance issues, I'm looking for a ½" spacer now...

white pony, I designed the mechanical linkage because it was a challange, & I did not have to butcher up the firewall or need to install a v-8 gas pedal.
In the event i ever wanted to go back to stock it would be an easy job..
I also like the feel of the linkage better. William

I think some of you will get a kick outta where I found my solution, I was bored with my new Holley and wondered if it would fit on my 2bbl manifold on my 289 (cough cough my original plan was to swap to this but its not gonna happen) and I set it up on top and noticed the carb wasnt sititng on the manifold...it was on a spacer... about a little bit taller than a half an inch.... I set it under my carb and ontop the plate and it makes it just tall enough to clear, and the whole assemble only sits a hlaf and inch taller than my old setup so I believe it will work...
