Is this a good carb to use on a 200 with Duraspark or is there a better choice for a 2 bbl?

Thanks for any input?

Howdy Back Steve:

It really depends on what you want. The 5200 is a good two stage two barrel made by Holley, under contract from Weber. It was adapted to many applications in many sizes. It is like half a four barrel with a primary bore and a secondary bore.

Most find fine tuning and jetting to be a bit challenging, but once achieved, find the 5200 to be a very civilized carb. Jets and tuning pieces are available. Optimized, and driven accordingly, it will give better MPG than a stock one barrel. Is typically has a better idle and slightly more power on the top end.

It is very compatible with the DuraSpark ignition system.

It is most commanly installed using an adapter, which can cause hood clearance concerns. They alos require fabricating a linkage system and an air cleaner.

There are many here who are happily using the 5200. Try doing a search for details. Also see the Sticky at the top of this forum.

i have one on my 250. if you can get maverick throttle linkage it should work. i got the adapter and carb and it was 100% bolt on and fit unerr the hood. you just need to solver the aircleaner problem. im very happy with it too. very smoth idle, and more power across the board. i hear alot of people use the 2300 2bbl as well but i personally cant say if its any better or worse

good luck
