Anyone ever adjusted the floats.....how do I use that little ruler thing or what is the best way. I know its not adjusted right keeps flooding carb or the seat is bad haven't taken apart yet....know any good books or manuals on this subject? please help. Just some advise don't ever buy rebuilt 94's off of Erape I mean Ebay unless your buying them for cores. Go to someone well known for there work like Charlie Price's Vintage Speed.

I personally don't know how to adjust the floats on the 94's. Since nobody has replied, you may want to shoot this question to the HAMB where you'll likely get a ton of help on these carbs. A lot of hambers are using them and I frequently see posts on 94's there.

Good luck, Shane

Did you ever get your floats/carbs squared away? I haven't been into a 94 carb, but it should be pretty similar to most other carbs of the era.

To adjust, you usually turn the bowl cover over (presumably where the float lives) and you use the little cardstock ruler to measure the float in both open and closed postions. To measure the closed position; you measure how close the float is to the inverted lid. Should be somewhere in the 1/16" to 1/4" range. To measure the open position; you simply flip the lid right-side up and measure how much the float drops and what the difference is between the float and lid surface. Again, it usually falls somewhere in the 1 1/4"-1 3/4" range. Sometimes you'll measure to the bottom of the float instead of the top, so the numbers may not be real accurate, but the idea is the same.

It should all be spelled out the rebuild kit directions. Or sometimes there's just little diagrams with the places to measure indicated. Not always the clearest things to figure out, though. This is a rough ballpark method of how to adjust the float level, there can be some minor (or even signifigant) differences with your particular carbs, so take this advice accordingly. :)
