Almost done installing my new motor and ran into a snag.
the old little Holley off my 60 falcon wont fit my 1972 head at all.
So I went to the metal store and bought a one inch peice of stock for a adapter... a couple of hours on the drill press and it looks good.
I'm trying to install allthis with out looking much different than stock.
Making the air cleaner work with the Holley/webber.

So far I have a New Cam. rebuilt engine and a new carb.
I'm pumped....I guess I need a header now...

the pic will show automaticly.

Thanks I will try that ...

I got the new motor running today... need to do the throttle libnkage and fix my cracked oil sending unit and I will be on the streets. the Carb I used is a little different than most of the pinto carbs... This one doesnt posses the E-Valve... but its nice. now to get the secondaries to kick in a little sooner.

At home I have pictures of my adapter that looks spookily like yours. Here is a page I started making when I was doing the initial layout for the adapter. I did this when I lived in Colo and my coworkers neighbor had a mill and he did the initial hole in the center and shaved the peice of aluminum down to a workable size.

Carb Adapter

I have some finishing to do... I only used a drill press, press vice and two bymetal hole saws (shown) ... I need a metal bandsaw for my Business so I will trim the outside and shape it....

Now if I can get linkage on the damn thing.

I put a h/w on my 63 Ranchero with the Stovebolt adapter. My stock linkage fit perfectly. Why or what is different? Everyone else seems to have to fab up a cable or linkage.

I bought both the Stovebolt and Clifford adapters, and am going to use the clifford. The Stovebolt cocks the carb off at an angle. Very strange. Plus, the base of the Clifford has a vacuum source that I'll run to the PCV valve. I just wish that it was shorter. I'm going to have hood clearence issues.

You have to use the stock base plate with the stovebold unit. Then it faces correctly and you have a PCV outlet.

I can send you photo's of my set up. PM me with your e-address

Posting just to see how it turns out.

I am undecided on which adapter I want to use.

well I ended up only test fitting this carb and the linkage...I did drrive the car 5 miles and did my break-in with it.... the carb i have is bad with gass bleading into the venturies, But I knew it was in ruff shape. the salvage yard that had that carbs I was going to use already crushed the Pintos I was scoping out. but I did resolve my issues like this.

I bought the linkage from a 82 Farmont or Granada (I didnt look that close) its a cable linkage. the cable, mount, peddel and carb was about 22 dollars. I used this carb now to drive the old car a bit.

I have a base for the H/W air cleaner off a Pinto I trimmed it to fit the out side diameter of my old air cleaner. then I had to bend it flat where it had some areas that curved up to clear the valve cover , Now I can use my stock air cleaner top, my K&N element and know one will know I have a H/W unless they really look.

No clearance issues on my 60 falcon with the later modle motor, the head is a 69 casting which has a taller log than the old (62)head that was on it.
the linkage moves smooth and the carb fits. As for my PVC I didnt have a vaccum tree to fit the hole in the head so I hooked up my pvc there. My Addapter is big enough to put a PVC outlet in.

the addapter cost me about 20$ all together but I had some studs and hole saws already.

When I get a carb I feel is worth rebuilding and has a choke I will put the addapter and air cleaner on and be happy. But for now I'm pleased with my rebuilt motor.
