The tech bulletin that Mustang Geezer put up on his website from Ford/Hot Rod Magazine on upgrading the Ford six by Ak Miller, I have converted to html and you go to http://www.cometcentral.com/tech/hm6/ and get to it. I'm also going to convert it to PDF for easy downloading, just give me a few days. I will also convert some of the other articles on Doug's site in the coming weeks, and will let you guys know when they are available.

Thanks Doug for making these availible, they are almost priceless to us six fans.

See Ya,
Mike

For those of you that are interested I will try to locate Part II of this Hot Rod article mentioned (July 1967) and pass on.

Ric.

The article brought as tear to my eye. I was suddenly 40 years younger. :D
I wonder how Ak would have liked a Pertronix setup. The amazing thing is that you can still double your rear wheel horsepower, for far less than a grand. :D

No problem Mike! Thats pretty cool how you can convert the scans like you did....thats way beyond anything I could accomplish!!

Ric,

part 2 is on the hotrod_inline6 website. Part one is actually a condensed version Ford put out of the original Hot Rod version. I have both but the Ford shop tips is in like new condition where the Hot Rod edition has yellowed from age.

I have a couple more manuals I'm trying to win on ebay, so dont bid against me!

Later,

Doug

No problem. Actually I was down in the basement looking for my old issues and couldn't find the 60's. They jump from the late 40's and 50's to the 80's. I'm freaking out here wondering if the wife got rid of them.

I'll keep looking, Ric.

If you find the issues for the 60's just holler.....there's one issue in particular I'm after :D :D

Later,

Doug

Ahhh yes,the June "72 Car-Craft Issue is particulary interesting........It's the issue in which Ak-Miller's(actually a customer's car......)LPG'd/Turbo'd '72 Maverek is pitted against Chrysler's Schwister built '72 Demon(this is based on a low compression Truck short block)225-Turbo car. Great isuue! OO6.

Doug, I can't find any of the 60's or 70's. It would be great to read the original Part II if it shows how the carbs were installed. Maybe it would fuel some additional ideas for modifications.

Thanks, Ric.

About a year ago i bought both of those magazines, june and july of 1967 hot rod off ebay for i think ten bucks together.. there are some pretty cool articles in those amgazines, and lots of interesting stuff about our sixes.

Helluljah! You Americans crack me up. I just love the old stuff that Hot Rod did. It NEVER goes out of date, and just proves you Americans can forget more than I will ever know about hot six pots, and you'll still know more than your bro's in the south pacific.

Getting into I-sixes is like finding an old bottle of ages old wine that kicks you silly and goes down smooth.

Ak Miller is a Revolutionary To Our Cause!

Where is Ak. He must be old. Can't we all E-mail him or something?

unfortunately, i seem to remember someone saying a while ago that he had passed on
:(

hopefully i'm wrong, if so, we should invite him here and make him an honorary Mod or something

thx geez for all those tech articles...loads of information and giving me new ideas and thoughts of how to build up my stang...gary

I am working on Part II right now bu the scan is bad enough that my OCR software had a tough time with it, so I'm having to make alot of corrections by hand (so bad spell check can't correct them, heres a portion of the OCR text; Wllh tit.. c.rbUftUon 81!4 earn "hanlr"ll. th.. ..nlfiao .. had a mO"'-than-~1JI8 idle al a stt.'ady 600 rpm. /ead.:.i.ng me to believe thi8 Iet1It could be used very nicely witk thl' little C-4 aotomatle ~ miuion. )

If anyone has a similar article they think would be helpful, I'd love to convert it to HTML but I don't think I'll go to this much trouble again, I think this article is important so I'm spending the time to do it.

See Ya,
Mike

Wow.. He got headers and a 10hp gain for only $125... Can you still find that price for the 6>2 headers?
