ON an aussie 2v head , how big of a 4 barrel can you go with a 250 at 5500 rpm?

depends on your cam size? My son and I have both run, Holley 600 CFM 4V and Holley 650 CFM Quadrojet carbs. I now running a Holley 2V because of the Supercharger, but my son is still running a Large 4V with a mild cam. Others here have had good results with the smaller 390 CFM Holley 4V and even the 500 CFM 4v. The larger the carb size will require more tuning to get it dialed in!

BTW we both have 200 sixes    Goodluck!

Yea probabley burn a lot of gas though.
I manage to burn 5-9 mpg in my 2.9L auto bronco 2 I wonder what that means for a 250 cid scout 4 speed

Im using a 570cfm Holley street avenger on a 7500rpm crossflow

Here is the deal this scout has 4.27 gears. I will be going 75+ mph on the freeway which is 3500 rpm at 75 in 4th gear with the np425 and 31" tires.

I will use this for around town, occassional highway, mild offroad.

I want to run an Edlebrock 4 barrel, aussie 2v,
(cam with more lift not sure about the lobe center) 9.5:1+ and a strong midrange.

Isky says you can run a 750 cfm on their 280 cam, 2500-6500 rpm, 109 lobe center.

or a 625 cfm on their 262 2000-5500 rpm 108 lobe center.

I will need an engine balance...

with my gear and tire combination it will be around 2500 after an up shift 1st to 2nd, 2900 after 2nd to 3rd if I up shift at 5500 rpm
