How do you lock a distributor?

Looking at some timing computer, they all require you to lock your distributor? How would one go about doing this on a DS2 dizzy? Thanks.

8) remove the vacuum advance mechanism, and remove the breaker plate. with the nech advnce system exposed, replace the springs with a strap that keeps the advance weights from moving. the cheap way is to just use steel wire like safety wire. twist it tight.
