I'm thinking of building another 200 for my Bronco. I lust got a spec sheet today from some old service manuals and I noticed that there is a big difference in HP over the years. Which motor would be the easiest and or best to build for better HP and touque? I have a fairly new 74 in the bronco now and I might get a recently rebuilt 66. Anything I should look for befor I buy a rebuilder? Thanks
Steve

Part of the HP differences between years is due to smog control strategies, and some is due to changes in baseline measurements themselves. So, some of the HP differences are real, but some are because they use a different 'yardstick'.

Get hold of the Schjeldahl brothers' book "The Ford Falcon Six Cylinder Performance Handbook" [Product ID: FSP-200-FSH; $16.95 on the Ford Six Performance Parts website -- http://cquesttechnologies.com/fspp/prod ... SP-200-FSH].

They talk about the HP differences from year to year, as well as the pros and cons of the design changes in the small six line-up over the production line. Then you can decide which year block and head will best fit your goals.

All of us have learned a great deal from the Schjeldahl brothers!
