Does ANYONE have any pictures of this webber setup on a 200?

The kit I got with this customers car set's this 32/38 diagonal to the motor and it looks like schitt......

Anyoe have any pictures they used to setup the linkage and the carb position etc?

I'd hate to tell this guy he's a retard and that I want to install a Carter or an autolite on it...

Thanks folks!

Sounds like the Stovebolt type adaptor. Can you fabricate an intermediate "sandwich" adaptor that corrects the clocking of this one?

Not without pushing the carb out the hood I reckon..

That's why I wanted pics. I wanna show this customer that a webber 2v isnt all that cool to run on a 66 mustang....

In the FordSix.com and ClassicInlines.com tech sections, there are two good articles on spacers and direct-mount 2-bbls, both with pics.

Pics of my 2-bbl on a Stovebolt adapter on the Ford spacer plate:

A third way (mine) is to simply drill new holes in the adapter so it "clocks" however you want it. Here are some threads with pics.

What's wrong with running a Weber (or Holley 5200) on a '66 Mustang? Mount it like mine and nobody can tell the difference without looking closely, and it runs better / gets better mileage than an Autolite 1100 (at least mine does).

The only drawback is in how OC you want to get about jetting one, imho.

Actually falconaround, a weber 32/36 isn't bad at all for these cars. When properly jetterd it is smooth, makes good power, and gets great mileage. I have the 38/38 which gets crap for mileage, but makes power. There are only 2 adapters that I know of on the market: stovebolt/trans-dapt and clifford. Or you can do a custom mount mount like mine (http://fordsix.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=43240). Mine and the clifford's have the float bowl to the side, which causes fueling problems on hard cornering, or use the stovebolt (trans-dapt) adapter which can be mounted sideways or with the float bowl to the front/diagonal. For reasons of fueling, having the float bowl to the front is better as it assures proper fuel to the jets during cornering and acceleration. Just get a big round aircleaner to hide the carb and you are good to go.

Is there an actual difference in performance when the carb is not oriented "square" with the world? If not, the air cleaner will cover it.

I seriously doubt that THIS engine can empty the float bowl in ANY carb... It's rebuilt, but it's no powerhouse... :)

I just think that diagonally is ugly... Plus theres the throttle linkage issue... WTF do I do there? Lokar only is very likely... I can fab something up fo rthe guy using the original rod I think...

We'll see...

I need to know a part # that will make this stupid arse Mustang linkage convert to Cable...

I'm nearly done with this guy's car and he's FLAT BROKE, the guy can't spend much more money...

I am going to clock the stove pipe adapter like Jaymers did...

So now I only need throttle linkage advice :)

I just used a piece of 1/4-20 allthread, couple of the ball and cup style clips that you can buy at any auto parts store. Early (pre 67) mustangs had a long throttle arm that takes a short linkage moving vertically. 67 and later have a short throttle arm that moves front to rear, either way will work with the piece of allthread.

I did have to bend the all thread to clear the log, but it still looks decent.

Check out Cobrasix's site. www.kastang.info

He did the conversion to throttle cable and I copied him. I got a accelerator pedal for a V8 and then used some hardware store brackets to run my Lokar cable to the carb.

If you need a V8 pedal, let me know. I think I can get another one for about $10.

I got the Lokar cable kit from the performance Checker auto store. It was about $75.

I do need a V8 pedal and mounting parts. Can you try to grab them and let me know what you gotta have for them, plus shipping?

This guy is coming Thursday to try and cover the extras going into his car.

Thanks a lot man!

I'll grab it today. I'll also take some pics of my setup tonight and post. Where do I need to ship to?

Next to seattle. Complete addy in a PM to you now.

OK. Remember to save the bracket for the auto tranny kickdown if that is what he has now. Mine just rebolted right onto the new pedal.

Here are the pics of my throttle cable setup.

I used a V8 pedal from a first generation mustang. I got the universal Lokar cable from Checker Auto. It comes with the bracket that you see bolted to the carb.

I made a cheesy bar the goes from one shock tower mount to the other. I needed a place to mount the throttle cable to on the pedal side and didn't want to drill into my valve cover. I may change this at some point in the future. Cobrasix has a better setup.

Let me know if you need any clarification or better pictures. I have an automatic tranny and just used the same kickdown bracket that I originally had. I also used the same rubber pedal but had to replace the pivot screw.
