Finaly I was just about to order a short block from Schuck's (170) $800.oo. But last night I decided to look in the calssifieds and found a rebuild C8 200 .30 over short block steal in the plastic rap for $450.oo YEE HAAA. Boy was I a happy camper
Now with the c8 casting I am under the inpresion that it well be easy to get a DII dizzy to work.. something about the dizzy hole being bigger than the earlyer ones..
Can I oil prim the motor like you do with the V8's befor starting up??
I just thought of something. when I brought the motor home I set it on it top (head side) do I need to worry that the lifters may have fallen out.. I'll need to check it anyway.. right... I haven't had a 6 apart so I'm not sure how they are set in there..

If I remember right when I bought my short block it didn't come with lifters. I had to go out and buy new ones.
Yes the lifters will come out of their holes if you flip the engine over with no head and puchrods, etc. installed, but you can easily drop them right back in their holes.

Nothing came out so maybe there isn't any lifters in it.. I havent realy looked yet.. its steal rapped up. when I set it back up I didn't hear anything rolling around.
