Hey Guys,

Wanted to post here instead of the drivetrain group because of higher volume of responses.
How do I positively identify what transmission I have..The shifter bezel on the floor board says cruie o matic, but how do I know for sure what I have mounted underneath. It is an automatic. I've heard C-6's can be mistaken for C-4's.
Any markings, or bolt patterns, etc to look for underneath ??
It is a three speed auto, mounted to a 200ci.

the C4, minus the tail section looks like this:

the C6, minus the tail section, looks like this:

the pan shape for the C4 is different, it has a seperate bellhousing, and it has two band adjustments bolts versus the C6 which has one band adjustment bolt, for more info on both, head over to this site

Sweet ,

Thanks .. That is exactly what I needed to id my tranny. And thanks for the link also
