I saw this site a couple of months ago and have decided to post it here.

http://www.sissellsautomotive.com/

This site sold an aluminum head for the late Chevrolet inline six (250cid). It was sold mainly to drag racers. The head is out of stock and the website states to check back in the Summer of 2006, so it must no longer be available.

If you look at the catalog pricing for the head:
Street (Stage I) head cost $2940
High performance Street (Stage II) head cost $3320
Race (Stage III) head cost $3650
These costs are without an intake manifold.

I'm posting this information for the people who believe that Mike's Aluminum head costs too much.

To them I say "If you think Mike's Aluminum Head is Expensive...."

Keep up the great work Mike!

Kirby is currently working on another batch of his heads now. And compared to other Inline race heads, his price is really not unreasonable for what other Inline race heads sell for. The CI head from what I have seen as far as money goes, is the most inexpensive bang for the buck you can get in an aftermarket aluminum head for an inline, and is way under the cost of others on the market as you pointed out.

I don't think Mike's head is priced too high... I bought my first parts from Mike when the Aluminum head was only a dream.

It's not that the Sissell/Kirby 12-port Stage III head is so expensive; it's really not given the quality of the casting, the expert port and chamber preparation, and the very good racing components used to assemble the complete head. And compared to the 240/300 big Ford Allen Johnson (Ford SVO) billet crossflow racing head delivered bare at several thousand dollars more, the Sissell/Kirby head is a relative bargin.

It's that the CI head for the 144/200/250 small Ford six is such a spectacular value! You small six guys are REALLY lucky. Let's hope the 240/300 big six version gets here sooner rather than later!

Absolutely the best deal, as I've always advocated and if there should be that person out there that thinks its not, nobody is stopping you, I'm very proud of Mike as a fellow american.
