Hey man
Im goin for nitrous on my stock 200.

In my older thread you said you were using a Cheater NOS system..
I went to the Holley site and it said
The NOS® CheaterTM system is designed for use on 350 CID or larger, carbureted engines. It uses large nitrous and fuel solenoids and can be adjusted to any desired power level from 150 to 250 horsepower, in a matter of seconds.

If it was designed for use on bigger engines, what do i have to do to make it work for our lil 200s? Rather, what did you do? anything? And i am planning to run a 75 shot, but the cheater can only go from 150-250?
heh thanks for clearing this up. :D

Also, I have a C4... Are there any disadvantages of running Nitrous on an AT?

Yes, I am using a Cheater kit but it does NOT use all the same parts as you would buy it with. I am using a Fogger nozzle(not a plate) tapped into the carb adapter and smaller N2O/fuel jets. I can run 25hp shot all the way to 250+ just by changing the jet sizes. Thats really all it is! The Cheater kit is not the only way to go though. Most any "wet" kit could be adapted to run on the six. I have even seen a Holley 2300 nitrous plate made by NOS. There are TONS of ways you could do it. Mine is just one way to do it and it seems to work very well. Of course the nitrous kit is just one peice of what you will need to get your car going with nitrous. You must also upgrade your fuel system and ignition for the amount of nitrous you are going to spray. I hope that does not sound like a lot because it is really not that hard at all and depending on the stuff you use does NOT have to be very expensive. And as far as the auto tranny....I am all about an auto for racing and high performance use. I can't think of one disadvantage to using an automatic with nitrous. C-4s rule anyways! Let me know if I can help you with anything!

Hey thanks alot Dan! :D
Im also planning on getting an electric fuelpump to go along with it. About ignition though, would a duraspark II be all that was needed for a 75-100 shot?

stangster66...fuel and ignition are the key ingredients in making nitrous work like it's supposed to. A stock ignition spark won't handle the pressure and heat generated by nitrous, also a fuel pressure regulator and gauge so you can adjust fuel accordingly. Remember N2O is the best "bang for buck" mod, but have to be very well prepared.
Check these MSD ignitions on eBay..

Good luck !

Cool thanks for the links

What about purge valves? are they needed? or just a waste of $$

Yea....what Alex said also. A good regulator and gauge are a must! And if you don't do anything else run a good fuel pump! I ran 100 shot with a Duraspark 2 and a good coil only and it was fine. Now I have a MSD 6AL with it. And as far as purge valves go they are not needed but are kind of nice to have. And fun to play with too!
