HI ALL
I was just reading the post by willyboy on the port divider and just though (ouch that hurt  the thinking part ). Now I shoud have looked at my head first (but I'm at work and don't have the car here) to see how the header bolts are alined but couldn't you make a header that is simeesed at the 3 and 4 cyl. just like they are simeesed at the colector and eleminate the prob with or the need of the port divider??
What are your thoughts.
Tim

That's been the go down here for a long time with the GM stovebolt-inspired sixes. Sure it will work.

Im confused... siamesed like grouping runners no. 3 & 4 together, or siamesed like the exhaust ports of the head, which basically create some sort of plenum (ya know what I mean)?
you thinking about a port-dividing nose welded to the header flange, like this (you wouldn´t have to deal with welding on cast iron then)?

That looks like it would work but wouldn't you run into turbulance in the head or maybe not if you test fitted it befor you welded it to the header to make sure you had a good fit in the head.
also I was talking about mateing the 3 & 4 pipes of the header so the only blockage would be the thickness of the pipes making like a V shape in the center flush with the flange on the head side.

If thats been the go for the stovebolt in Oz land is their a reason it wouldn't work on the fords? or that someone just haddent thought to do it?

Tim, the "fin" as Simon drew it counts as an exhaust mod, not a cylinder head mod. No head work allowed, but custom exhausts are OK in the racing classes this was done for. The prevalence of GM sixes over Ford in speedway is the main reason their sixes ran with this deal.

Cheers, Adam.
