Innovate wide band exhaust monitor questions

One item i have on my list of 'wants' is an Innovate LM-1 wide band setup like Kelly and Will use.

Looking for used stuff on ebay or craig's lists. Are there parts to look at that could be bad and not obvious?

Are different brands of O2 sensor better than others for unit?

Whatever you get, you'll someday want the ability to datalog, so look for one that has the ability to output data.

The LC-1 is a delicate sensitive unit that may work in a lab environment but is very unstable when mounted in a car. What was this designed for?.... If it was stable it would be great. I dont have an LM-1 but it seemed to have a good rep so thats why I figured the LC would also be a good unit. I am using a megasquirt so it handles the logging and display so the LC seemed perfect since it was supposedly the same as the LM just without the display and logging options. I think both units use the same sensor which is a Bosch unit that I believe is OE on a 200x Volkswagen. I have not looked real hard but so far have not seen an other than bosch replacement for those. I just replaced mine thinking it may have been the problem. Sensor was in stock at my local napa, around $80 IIRC. Innovates tech department gave me some total illogical BS about ground differentials being my issue. I believe that could be a cause for inaccurate readings but should not cause the controller to keep going to warm up and coming up with seemingly random errors. As you can tell I am not impressed with them.

Crosley,
I like our LM-1! It still is working just fine!

We only datalog the RPM and A/F. One of these days I may upgrade it so we can log boost pressures too.

Later,
Will
