Is a multilayer steel head gasket available for the 300 six?

If so, who makes one?

If not, what's the best head gasket currently available?

I'm going to get an estimate from Cometic for a one-off headgasket (probably VERY expensive). If anyone else is interested, maybe a group buy would bring the cost down. They are AWESOME for boosted/high compression applications.

Justin,
Good luck! The word I got from them regarding the small six gasket was that we need to have a minimum buy of 100 gaskets. There was also some NRE (non-recurring Engineering) for them to design the thing.
So at a price of at least $100 each, you're talking an initial investment of over $10,000.
The good thing about the "big-six" is that more people race them over the small six, so maybe you might get lucky and they already have one.

Or maybe if we enough people keep asking them to make an Inline gasket, they will see the need, and develop one themselves!

So for now use head studs, O-ring the block to help hold in the fire ring, and use the Corteco gasket.
Or there might be a copper gasket out there somewhere too.
Later,
Will

Corteco makes a performance headgasket for the 300.can't find my catalog for the part number.you might try doing a search in the 240/300 forum for corteco...IIRC it was posted in there awhile back.

I emailed Cometic inquiring about a MLS headgasket. As I suspected, they don't offer one. And it doesn’t sound like anything is in the works either.

But thanks for the input, fellas. Looks like we’ll run a Corteco gasket with head studs and maybe go with O rings. We’ll just have to be a little more conservative with the timing to keep the sucker in one piece. :D

lets say you wanted to lower your c/r on say a 200 ci. Would you get enough sealing power if you used a steal gasket with a composite gasket followed by another steal gasket? Do you think it would hold up under boost? with only 4 studs per cylinder I wonder how good of a seal you would get.
