Or does the Acc. pump circuit on the carter YF suck?

I can't really get mine to squirt for crap, and it never squirts the second time unless I wait a few seconds for the plunger to return.

This causes me some tip-in bog as well as being a HUGE pita when trying to start for the first time in a while... I have to use starting fluid because pump the gas as I may, it doesn't squirt crap for gas in there.

I am sure I must be doing something wrong... does anyone have any tips?

If it sucks, then it's not pumping!

You've got something wrong internally. :(
How long has it been like this? Is it new or rebuilt? Who rebuilt it? Time to disassemble and inspect.

I rebuilt it. It works great otherwise. A stronger spring for the plunger return was the route I was thinking, as well...

Fill hole, along with every other hole on the carb, seems to be perfectly clear.

I've had it apart a few times to screw w/ the jetting... and the acc stuff seems fine. Just doesnt work too well.

IIRC, there's a wire-like link that controls the pum's stroke, and it determines the length of the stroke. Double check the length.

look at the check ball, there should be a weight on it. you might be squirting gas back to the bowl.
if the weight is there and sticking, it could also cause a restriction.

Ball is there, weight is there...

I like the heavier spring idea, I think I am going to go that route. What's the worst that could happen... right?
