There used to be a video on the ford six performance site of a 64 1/2 mustang doing a mega burnout with a modified 6.

Why does everybody keep claiming they have a "64½" Mustang or call every 65 that?
Just one of my pet peeves.

Anyhow, here's a couple of vids.

The guys are on the site regularly.

Well there is one way to tell for sure that i can think of whether or not it is really a 64 1\2. Originally they came with 260s, also possible that it could be a 170 straight six, i cant remember if they dropped the 170 as the main stang engine in 65 or if it was later on.

Also though technically my falcon would be a 64 1\2, it was made in august of 64, but its a 65 year model *shrug*. I also see tons of people saying thier 65 falcon is a 64, but they have different grills so who knows.

For anybody who wants just a little info about engine choices and available body styles for the early Mustangs (including the real 64 1/2 models), here's a useful link:

Ford Classics - Mustang Specs

Thanks for the link. I've heard about various ways to tell, but it aggravates me when EVERYBODY refers to their car as being one. There were very few made, it's like everybody that has a Shelby clone claiming that it's really a Shelby. There are more "Shelbys" on the road now than were ever made.

Most people have no idea what constitutes the early '65 Mustangs, they just say it to try to be cool.

Like I said, just one of those things that irritates me. Didn't mean to cause a big deal over it. Well, not too much

Linc, I love that sound! So different than anything else.

First time I listened to the video, I thought: "Cummins diesel Dodge"

It sounds way different inside the car

Thanks for the videos :D excellent..
i could see that in all these races the ford 200 losed the races :?
everybody says me, and i think i must change my 200 for a 302 V8 :bang:

Well, you have cheap fuel in your country - so that is one thing not to worry about.
