HELLO KEITH

.....FORD MADE A BIG CHANGE TO THE EXHAUST IN 1964-65. THEY CHANGED THE FLAT FLANGE TO A MUCH BETTER GASKET-INSERT SYSTEM.. THIS SYSTEM WILL GIVE BETTER SEAL AND MORE H.P. THE ADDED H.P. IS DO TO THE LARGER PIPE. FORD GAVE THE 170 MOTOR A JUMP TO 105 H.P. WITH THIS CHANGE. IT WAS 101 H.P. THEY MADE THE CHANGE BECAUSE OF THE VERY POOR SEAL WITH THE TWO FLAT FLANGES. YOU SHOULD ALSO GET MORE TROUBLE FREE SERVICE WITH THIS SYSTEM. IT IS SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT.

LOTS OF LUCK....LOL

If you look around are put an add in the wanted section of this forum someone may have a good used one to sell. I have a colection of these may have one that is not cracked.

Yes, it's worth the money if you need a stock appearing, bolt-on manifold with the added benefit of being re-engineered over the crack prone original.

Please note the difference in exhaust flange mouting, the early ones use a flat gasket (the one you listed) unlike the round donut like the one Mustang Boy is offering. If you need a flat mount style, the later won't work unless you replace your exhaust pipe where it attaches to the manifold.

FWIW, I believe I have a good, early style manifold in storage. PM me if your interested.
