i found the rims i want on eaglewheels.com. they are the model 028, just a basic 5 spoke polished wheel. is the bolt pattern for the 66 mustang with the 200 I-6 4.25 or 4.5? also, would the dimensions 15x7 fit perfectly in the wheelwell and allow clearance and allow the wheels to turn fully and properly? i found an article in mustang monthly about what im talking about, the article was about running wider 50 series wheels instead of 60 series. the 50 series made the car look better period and increased its performance greatly. it anyone knows the answer to my query, ill gladly accept it. later yall

Yes. But five studders won't fit. 4.5 inches, four stud is what you got.

4.25 inch pitch 4 studs are for Eurpoean style stuff, like Pintos, Escorts, Mustang II's, Feistas and pre 1980 Capri's.

(nb://5 stud axles were used for 260-289 V8's. 15x7's will just fit if backspace is correct, but you have to convert to V8 discs and axle or Maverick/Granada discs. B-I-G job. But fairly easy if you have time and follow the driveline section....and replace everything  )

Sorry I can't be more reassuring. It was Fords fault...they had a lot of Falcon gear to sell off!

The Eagle 028 in a 15x7 with a 4" backspace will fit fine. The four lug model comes with both a 4.25 and a 4.5" pattern.

I ran roughly the same spec wheel (in a five lug pattern) and it fit well. A 205/65-15 (what I used), 215/60-15, or 225/50-15 tire fits well all around. You should be able to go to a 225/60-15 or a 245/50-15 on the rear.

I'm running 16" wheels now.

actually ALL capri's used the 4x4.25 pattern. remember the post 78 capri's were just slightly restyled fox bodied mustangs.

when i get my new 225/50/HR or ZR 15's, wont my gauges not read accurately? will i have to make some changes to wiring or something to get the gauges to compensate for the bigger tires? i jsut read on my other post 'show car' in the FSP lounge that he got a ticket cause he just got new tires and his gauges were off. if anyone can tell me if im wrong or not, id like to know kinda soon. thanks yall

What size tires do you have now? And how do you know they're reading correctly?

Go to http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html and compare what the difference in speedometer reading will be between your old and new tires.

You'll need to calibrate the speedo to be sure anyway. At a steady 60mph measurethe time it takes to go between mileposts. Any over or under one minute is the percentage your speed ois in error.
