Jetting, again

I was thinking....

My main jets for the 32/36 are much larger than the secondary jets. Would it hurt if I swapped them out. I'm still getting a slight hesitation whenever the secondary kicks in.

The main secondary won't help your transition much if any. The hessitations is inheirent (sp?). The DGV lacks an accelorator pump for the secondary. You could try increasing the accelerator pump jet, but first, what secondary idle do you have? 60 or 70?

60 for the secondary.

The hesitation isn't much but I would like to smooth it out completely, if possible.

Throw in a 70. If that doesn't work, go to a larger accelerator pump jet.

Sounds good but you don't think my secondary jets are too small? They are 135 & 140.

Depends a little on what air mains you have. Also with the Weber being mounted on an adapter, you aren't getting a lot of airflow. If the Weber was mounted straight to the log I would say they are way small.

My buddies Argie headed 200 has a little Weber on it with 180 mains on both barrels (DGES carb). The car actually runs out of gas around 80mph so we are looking for some 190 or 195s.

I'm looking at having the head shaved a bit for compression sake next week sometime and when it's in the shop I'll have them mill the log flat so that I can directly mount it to the log.

I'll call Langdon about some larger secondary jets in the mean time.

Oh, If I mount two Webers then I would need the same jets for both, correct?
