And stopped everything to unwrap it!

After a year and a half of looking, I now own a new old stock Lynx model #190 intake manifold to mount three Webers or Dellortto's on my Aussie 2V head! Total cost, including econo air shipping, Western Union fees, and the intake, about $220.00 U.S.

Oh, yeah, that doesn't include several calls to Oz, dozens of email queries to every Ford oriented spare parts shop that I could track down, and hours searching through Aussie web sites for info.

Before this, the nearest I got to tracking one down was a call to a spares shop in Sidney last fall, the guy says "Yeah, mate, I know what you're looking for; we just sold one to a bloke in Canada about a month and a half ago..." So, no worries, just keep looking; they're out there.

BTW, Lynx does still have a few of the intakes to go on the shaved log head, for the more adventurous machinists.

Actually, things are getting much thinner on the ground.

Also, the people who have the good bits frequently aren't on the net and often not interested in it. Plus Phil's buyer and Mike's buyers have got a lot of the place covered. I am sure a couple of 2Vs I missed went that way.

The slight recession here has dropped the bottom out of what was already a lean market. A lot of car projects are now resting in pieces due to lack of funds; I've watched it dwindle for 18 months. This is partly due to the much higher costs of owning an old car here, too.
