First off, it took me for FREAKIN ever to do!!!! I wanted to put it behind the radiator in the engine compartment, but water pump too tall, SOOOO, front end comes off and I go to intall it in the front, pusher style i guess. It all ends up working out but it took ALOT of fabrication, busted knuckles and fingers, some cutting of metal and plastic, alot of drilling and a few choice words. I took her out and she cools down REAL fast, but I noticed she ran a little warmer than usual, but at a good constant temp, never getting too hot. Thing is, it was a cool night so it seemed to run a little warm for me. I guess I will have to wait and see what happens when its hot outside. I have the thermostat set to turn the fan on when the temp gauge hits about 2/3 of the way up. Is that good, or should I change it??? Well, anyone runnin a 16" 2550cfm fan or similar that can let me know how its doin??? Should i do anything else to help. Ill tell you one thing, I could feel the power from ditchin the fan from the motor tho!!! I really could, THAT I am happy with!

You're letting it get too hot before it kicks on! :D :D

Mine is just hooked up to a on off switch and it has never got above 1/2 way up on the gauge even in 90-95 degree weather.

Readjust and try it again.

The only thing I had to modify was the bottom of the radiator support...I'll take a pic and show you.

don,t panic yet! with the fan mounted in front of radiator you are blocking air flow that use to go through radiator causing a lower temperature. you are seeing this blockage as a higher steady temperature. 225 deg is ok in warmer weather. it is good if your fan turns on and off in warmer weather. that means fan is controling temp.
if you find that the pusher fan will not cool at hotter ambient, you may want to consider two smaller puller fans to avoid h20 pump. puller fans are more efficient than a pusher. that stock engine driven fan robs some ponies. electric fans are the way to go.

good luck

If your car normally ran at mid-scale on your temp gauge, you should readjust your fan thermostat so ti kicks on sooner. If it were me, I'd get a real temp gauge and use that. Factory "gauges" were notoriously inaccurate.

8) i would also put a real gauge on the motor, and adjust the fan controller to come on at 195 degrees. i would also wire in a manual override switch, in case you havent already, just in case the controler fails.

I've got a 16" pusher (busted knuckle install). The engine warms up faster then stays steady with the fan regulating when needed. I haven't had any problems, but I haven't gone through the summer yet. I can't say for certain where my thermo is set. I guess at about 190°.

Figured that SOB out just now!! Yeah geezer, I had to cut the support too, thank goodness, I thought I was doin a no no, lol. I had the stupid thing wired to the ignition part of the solenoid, so it wasnt even turnin at half the CFM. I took the power wire off today and touched it to the positive part of the battery and it bout took off, lol. I have it wired now so that it turns on when the thermo says too and stays on even after you turn the car off until the thermo tells it to stop. Does that sound more like how its sposed to go??? Man, BIG relief, now mu busted knuckles an poor raw fingers are justified!!!! You guys are awesome!!!!

As long as you've a decent sized battery to cope with the effect of running a few minutes with the alternator off, this is the best method. Bit like a turbo cooldown timer!

8) i also hope you used a relay to run the fan, and let the controler trigger the relay. that way you minimize the load on the fan controler.
