Jim Smart (Primeda senior editor) stopped by the booth and talked with us for a while. He is all in favor of doing some I6 stuff, but is still having a difficult time convincing the publisher that anything other than SB build-ups sells issues.
On the other hand, he did get premission to do a few features to see how they go. So we all need to make a point of
writting in when they do, to show our support.
Jim is meeting up with Kelly and Will tomorrow around 2PM (after Pony Trails) to do a photo shoot of the Falcon. He told Will he wanted to find a place where they can light them up.
Per Jim, the title of the feature will be:
When we were leaving the show, one of the dealer employees came over and talked to Will. The only way out of the lot is to drive past the guard shack, and some of the V8er's were doing burn outs as they past by, which is a tradition. Well this guy asked Will if he could do a burn for them, since it was the only hot inline at the show. They wanted to see what he could do, compared to the V8s.
So Will pulls up and stops right next to the guard shack, then stabs the gas. The smoke filled the air so thick I couldn't get a pic, as I was surrounded in a thick fog (to close). Eventually, Will pulls away with the tires still spinning. These guys were shocked, and told Rich and I that the burn was without a doubt, the best of the day. I looked down and the ground was smoking and there were two holes in the blacktop. One employee was worried about getting in trouble, as it was surely going to need repair on Monday morning. One employee, a salesman, came running out and said "they just told me that Falcon was an inline six, NO F...ing way, seriously" Oh yea.......

Five minutes later, when I pulled out, the blacktop was still smoldering.
I showed Jim several pics of member rides earlier in the day. He will be going to Carlisle in June, and asked if the Geezer and Billr57 would be there, as he wants to shoot both of their cars. He also wants to take pics of Mike and Bens stangs when they are at Fab Fords later this month.
