Later 200 parts

Will the crank dampener from a 77+ block fit a 65 block ?

Yes, BUT (don't you hate big butts) A late 200 damper will fit a 170 or a 144. However a 250 is NOT interchangeable with them.

The problem with the later damper is that they also use the longer water pump and a different water pump pulley. If you have enough clearance (one extra inch) between the fan and the radiator, use the longer pump and its pulley too.

thanks for the info, Dennis. I have a 200 block in my 65 coupe. I saw that you mentioned only the 144 and 170, to clarify, would a 78 200 damper fit a 65 200? I'm sorry if I missed something.

It will fit the crank snout perfectly, but it's slightly larger in diameter. There may be interference with the water pump pulley.
