I know the late 250 had a longer (fore/aft) waterpump. The 3 bolt pump on my '78 200 engine appears to be about 0.75 longer than the pump used on earlier engines. Does this pump have any performance advantages - such as a higher flow rate or better bearing/seal life?
The only advantage of the long shank water pump is you can run a pulley with more belt grooves. Otherwise it is the same pump. Some of the late 200's had that pump as well.
