Manifold building.

After building up my 200ci log head, I have decided it is time to take the next step with this motor: remove the log. I am planning to design a proper 2v manifold for it along the lines of the 250 2v manifold. As far as I can see the log head with a proper manifold added would have the same performance as a 2v head. Is this right or are there differences? The current plan is to cut off the log, leaving the rear face of the log to use as a bolting flange. The intake pipes I am going to have actually running into the heads intake ports. This will help to fix the manifold to the head as well as reducing the port diameter slightly to help increase intake port velocity. I want to use mechanical method of joining the manifold on rather than welding it.I will draw some pictures soon so you can see what I am planning more clearly.

Has anybody on this forum gone about designing a new intake and if so how did you go about it? Any thoughts?

Hey greenmachine,Is there a specific reason for log alteration or is this just an experiment. I,m doing triple 1v to 200ci at the moment mainly for looks etc,can be used as single or triple with minor mods

My main reason for altering is more POWER....as always. Unfortunately, my dad thinks I will gain too much power by doing it so I can't build it up just yet.(This is my first car and I've played with the motor already). The other thing is there are more logical things to finish first like the interior and suspension. Although I agree its logical, I still want to do the motor  The idea of nice stainless piping coming out the side of the head is also a contributing factor.
