Mike Crate Engine ?

I have some good rebuildable blocks that you can HAVE! I have way too much crap and I'm trying to get rid of a lot of it. I could even put a distributor in it, fuel pump, carb, head, water pump, etc... on it for NOTHING. But I'm CA! (Also Mike I might have a good block for ya that hasn't been touched, never rebuilt, I'll have to look) Workin' on those dizzy gears for ya too.

I come down to LA about six times a year, so it wouldn't be a problem to stop by and pick them up. I'd even be happy to pay for them. I guess I need to call some bone yards in SoCal to see if I can locate some.

There's only two yards here in Phx that have classic parts. One is super expensive ($100 bucks for a pair of motor mount brackets, 95 bucks for a timing chain cover). The other place is reasonable, but doesn't have any.

I've looked into doing an aluminum block, but it very expensive and would require some serious cash outlay. I just don't think enough people would be willing to pay the price. However, if I did do it...... 221ci block, V8 bell, access to the lifter galley for roller lifters, ???

Oh yes Mike, as soon as you find some blocks AND customers to buy them I'll fly over and help you put a few together

Gee, there's a yard up here that crushes a car with a six every other freakin week.
Sad to see really. I'd buy engines, but have nowhere to keep 'em.

Do you have a rough guess of what an aluminum block would cost. I'd buy at least one. I've got four inline cars I'm workin' on the and big bell would really be nice.
