I want to mill my 79 250 head for a 2300 2V Holley using a small (thin) 1/2 adapter plate. Do you mill at the same angle as the original pad or angle of log intake. i don't want to mill through and have enough to attach to adapter. thx for help Gary

Gary, try to mill close to the angle of the original carb mount, however you will have to weld or braze in all the low areas on the log or you will have some gaps for the adapter to seal on the log.

I would purchase one of Mikes heads rather than do all the machine work necessary & still be 40+ hp short, compared to the new aluminium head.

You will have at least $600.00+ in the old head & still will not even match the new head bone stock. Your choice??

If you can do all the machine work yourself then the cost would be just for parts.

i have the 250 at 0 deck with flat top pistons. mikes head has only 52 cc chambers and would need to take out at least 10 cc to give livable compression. would have close to $2000 in mikes head with intake, carb etc. open to ideas work has not yet begun on head thx. Gary

I have a head that has been machined for the 2bbl already and has the exhaust divider welded in just needs to be hot tanked and a valve job. ill take $100.00 plus shipping if you are interested. I can email pics if you are. Thanks, Mark
