I noticed while my friend in his 2000 gt with flowmaster exhaust pulled up and revved, and I had to show him up, but when It gets to something like 3000 rpms it has a misfire or something... it doesnt sound right... what could cause this? I also realized that I now have to watch the tach... I almost wet myself when it jumped to 6 grand... I dont believe I hear the missing sound when driving... but the cam helped alot for the higher rpms when driving... wont do burnouts when bake torquing anymore though... still need to mess with timing. Could it possibly be something with the timing being too far advanced? it only does it when revving from what I know of... if need be I can make a short video clip tomarrow I suppose... Thanks, Tommy

Spark plug wires too close, or adjacent?

Didja get your retainers yet? Do you have the old stock ones still in there?
My machinist was worried about inner coil bind, so be careful.

no I have to send Mike an email about that... ummm I noticed after charging the battery the missing stopped at the higher rpms (I drove down the strip today and it did it on my 3rd run which was my first sucsessful run) after than I charged the battery and It never did it...

I'm just gonna throw these out because when my timing was off (as well as some other things) I had roughly the same problem. This will probably seem extremely ridiculous but it caught me off guard. Pull your plug wires off the dizzy and make sure the contacts on the wires are pulled through so they're uptight against the dizzy cap contacts, if you have the stock style cap. Mine weren't against so they were arcing across a gap and my #3 tower got a little melted.
Def. check the advance. Mine was producing almost no vac at idle but I was running about 12-14 deg advance and around 3800 it seemed to get too much vac too suddenly
Just a few thoughts
