modifying new fuel pump

I saw the article on modifying the Carter super strip pump to work on our six's then i saw the article on the piston fuel pump and was wondering if that could be modified to fit on our six's...

That pump wouldn't work. It has a shaft that works straight off the cam. On a Chevy the pump has a shaft that goes into a hole on the block and the lever works off of that. The regular pump for chevy and ford has a lever that can be swapped. If you removed the pump section and mounted it to work off the cam, you might be able to use it.
