need aussie cross flow engine advice

all, a friend of mine has this 250 aussie x-flow engine that came out of a '66 econoline. The fuel delivery system isn't totally obvious to me, nor the other tweaks needed to make it run right. If someone wanted V-8 power from a six, what needs to be done here? Or is the Classic In-Line aluminum head the way to go? This one has the adapter to run a C-4.

Thanks, John

i dont think the aluminum head will fit crossflows, at least not easily.

So the bottom end isn't a US 250 block? Is this an overhead cam engine? Sorry total noob regarding this engine. Should have suspected something since it has a special C-4 bell...

Well, it's EFI for starters...

And no, it's not the same 250 block.

hmmm.....so what are the parts issues like? This doesn't sound like your local parts house OTC stuff.

What is this engine worth here in the US?

With no particular details to offer, I believe research will reveal this is a fantastic engine with huge potential, even in stock form. A number of people on this forum use them.

Contact falconizer_62 as he is completing an install of one into his wagon (designed for towing, daily driving & mpg)

well hey...my apologies...wrong forum topic even...thinking this was just an aussie head bolted onto a 250 US block...my bad.

Thanks so much everyone for the education...this engine has peaked my interest, there is quite a following for it here. But I'll get my 240 dialed in before I get off on another engine project.

Still can't believe what can be done with the Aussie engine. It seems to have even more potential than the iron head 300, maybe even better than the aluminum head version SB/BB 6's.

There is a possibility that the owner might be looking for a good home for the engine. It is in Southern Cal right now. You folks can PM me if interested and I'll faithfully get you in touch.
