Ok this is the problem, I installed everything for electronic ignition and am running it solely off MSD6AL,

MSD
79 Granada Dist.
MSD Blaster 2 coil
cap, rotor, cap adapter
wires

My problem is it will sometimes run for a short period of time then just shut off all of a sudden, then it will not start back up for quite some time. I followed the chart on the tech page to wire it, do I need the adapter for the magnetic pickup, or can't I just wire the green to violet, orange to violet? For a while I thought my MSD box was to blame, but I went and bought another one and am still having the same problems (so I'll return the new one and work with the original box)

Any ideas on why my car is dis-liking electronic ignition? did I forget to buy something? I need help, Pony Trails is Friday!

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Have you had time to start poking around with a voltmeter when it will not start? Make sure you have 12V and grounds where you are supposed to. I picked up a cheap (3.99$) digital one at Harbor Freight they always are running sales. I don't know anything about the MSD install I have only done the 'pointless' conversion with the GM module and a Ford Blue Grommet module and both worked flawlessly, as long as you do not count few mishaps like me hooking up the power and ground backwards once  and a broken wire in the used harness that we got from the wrecking yard (which was found with a voltmeter).

Aside from that I would have to start blaming things like the coil shorting out interally or possibly a problem with your fuel delivery system like if the carb got too hot and you got something like vapor lock happening, which I have read people have suffered from on some of their sixes..

Are you having to modify or change anything to get it started again? Any idea if there is a specific temp that it is happening at?

Check it out and let us know
